Fun fact: Farmers create seedless watermelons by cross-breeding a diploid (two-chromosome) watermelon with a tetraploid (four-chromosome) watermelon. This creates a triploid hybrid that has an odd number of chromosomes making it sterile, producing only underdeveloped seeds.
